Evolet India has launched the new Derby electric scooter, which is part of the brand’s range of entry- level, low-speed electric scooters. The new Evolet Derby is offered in two variants – Derby Classic and the Derby EZ – both sporting different battery options. The Evolet Derby e-scooter is priced from Rs. 46,499 (ex-showroom) and sports a sharp and sporty design language that will be appreciated by young buyers. The scooter gets an angular styling with a large front-apron mounted headlamp unit, sharply styled rear view mirrors and a wide single-seat. The design language on the Derby makes it look like a 125 cc scooter rival. The Evolet Derby electric scooter is also loaded on the feature front and sports an LED headlamp, fully- digital instrument console and alloy wheels. The Derby EZ comes with a VRLA battery, while the Derby Classic uses a lithium-ion battery, both of which offer different range and charging times. Power on the Evolet Derby comes from a 250 watt BLDC electric motor with a peak power of 350 watt. The lithium-ion model offers a range of 65 km on a single charge and can be charged in three hours, while the VRLA version has a range of 60 km with a charging time of eight hours. The top-speed on both variants is restricted to 25 kmph. The Evolet Derby e-scooter gets telescopic forks at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear, while disc brakes at either end take care of braking duties. The scooter also comes with e-ABS as standard. The Derby rides on 10-inch alloy wheels with tubeless tyres. The Polo e-scooter is light with a the kerb weight ranging between 82-102 kg, depending on the variant. It also gets a low seat height of 750 mm. The ground clearance stands at 160 mm. Evolet is offering a 3-year warranty on the battery and 1-year warranty on the motor. In addition, the Evolet Derby can be charged at a home socket with ease, while there’s a fully mobile connectivity feature as well that allows access to features like geofencing, setting up alarms and notifications, viewing driving scores, manage service appointments and get new product updates. The Evolet Derby is offered in three colour options including – black, red with black and black with silver.
